Saturday. No frost this morning. All is calm and tranquility is the order of the day...until the Six Nations starts this afternoon that is! My green shirt with the shamrock on is ready! :o}
A very good day yesterday. The weather remained dry with not too much wind. Prince Charles was impressed with the wheelie boat and the katakanus. He remembered me from the hospice six years ago! Amazing with the number of people he meets every day.
He then boarded Perseverance in the upper lock, the paddles were opened and the water level went down and the gates were opened and off he went to the Lower lock, He cut the tape first go while the boat was in motion. A big cheer went up. :o} He was impressed with the work done so far and wished us well for the rest of the restoration. The top bosses from the Heritage Lottery Fund were there too. They were impressed with the restoration so far. I hope they were impressed enough to give us the money we need to do the most expensive part of the entire restoration. That's the Fromebridge Roundabout, (built on top of a lock) And the M5 bridge over the River Frome. We have the plans for that, just need the money!
