Hi there is a car parked on my driveway - before I call the police and completely panic - is there anyway of finding out who owns it.
It is taxed and MoT'd and insured?
There is a step ladder on the roof and what appears to be electrical boxes and tools in the back.
Surely (given that you're in Norn Iron) an unidentified vehicle in 'the wrong place', with electrical kit visible is going to get blown into next week by the bomb squad??
Is it actually on your property and blocking your drive, or just making life difficult by being badly parked where the drive meets the road?
Islay, the owner was out of order and Trespassing leaving the car on your drive, I would do what I have stated and on return of the owner either charge them for parking for the return of the wheel, I hope this does not happen, but what f for any reason this thing caught fire.
"If you don't have a "no parking" sign on your drive, he is legally allowed to park there,..."
You really need to get your facts straight, spathi !!! Don't you think, if that were so, that everybody who has trouble parking at their local railway station or simply begrudges the parking fee at the station car park would simply park on on the nearest front driveway they could find?
"...the police can do nothing."
Though there you are correct. Trespass is a civil matter.
It could simply be that someone had parked in the wrong drive by mistake. e.g. one of your neighbours might have said "You can park in my friend's drive just along the road while you're working in my house; she's not got a car and I know she won't mind. Her house is the one with the stone cladding" (while completely forgetting that your house also has stone cladding). Such mistakes are far from infrequent!
