Bournemouth is probably best. Good sandy beaches and plenty of night life. Avoid the rest of the south coast though as the beaches are nearly all pebble. Try also Weston-Super-Mare in Somerset or Barmouth in Wales.

Thanks Dassie , I love Barmouth in Wales , went there on saturday in fact. Love it because not much changes there over the years , and the beach is great.
I have been to Weston but never in the summer it as always been Feb or March (but it was still fun ) Will have to try .
Bournemouth never been to but will look into thanks
Brighton.

Pebbles on the beach but great seafront, great pier, and the lanes for shopping.

Lots of bars and clubs as well.

Bournmouth is rather old old persons place (retirement town)
Anywhere in Cornwall.
Whitbuy and the surrounding coastal areas have nice beaches.

Ditto the "anywhere in Cornwall" poster above
Hi inej, I've always wanted to travel up the east coast visiting pubs on the way. Don't restrict yourself to just one place. Start off north of The Wash at Skegness then Mablethorpe, Cleethorpes, (hop over the bridge) Withernsea, Bridlington, Scarborough and finish off at Whitby. Not only good pubs but the best fish and chips in the UK. Let me know how you get on.
southport
Anywhere in Cornwall or West Wales.
Agree with vehelpful guy, Brighton is good, lots going on whatever your age. Very cosmopolitan, plenty of choice in restaurants/bars.

Would also agree that Bournemouth wouldn't be my recommendation. Whilst it is a pleasant town, once the shops shut it takes on a different perspective. Every bar has bouncers outside all connected with walkie-talkies, gave it a very unnerving atmosphere.
