One very moving item on this show. A Dalmatian owner who knew he had to have his dog put to sleep due to illness. He decided to have one last walk with him on the beach where they walked every day with other Dalmatian owners. He messaged the other owners suggesting they joined him.
They all forwarded the messages on to other owners.
When he arrived at the beach there were hundreds and hundreds of other Dalmatian, all come to say goodbye. Never seen anything like it. It had me in tears.
He had to leave later as the vet was coming to his house to put the dog to sleep.

Sorry Whippet not Dalmatian!
Oh gosh...I remember Walnut. I'm crying a wee bit because sally looks like a younger version...and she will be old one day.

He didn't leave,

///Mark announced Walnut’s death on Facebook, thanking the hundreds of people who supported the family over the past few days.
He wrote: “Walnut passed away this morning at 11.56am. The family and our three whippets, Monty, Nelson and Charlie were also in the room. He went very quickly and in my arms.///

Very sad, but be honest - he kept the dog going far too long for his own benefit - the poor dog should have been let go with dignity. He admitted he took months to decide - to me that is not fair on the dog. Better a day too soon than a moment too late.
^ 100% agree. It annoyed me greatly when he said he took months to decide and it was obvious the poor dog was suffering. He thought of himself more I'm afraid and I had to stop watching.
I saw it and I cried buckets.
I didn't see the programme, but if a dog is ill enough to be put down the same day, is he well enough to go on a walk which is for his owner's benefit alone?

Loving any pet means preparing to lose them, and knowing when the time has come to let them go.

Any owner should think of that when the decide to have a pet, and carry it through when the time comes.
Although the dog was taken on his 'last walk' he was carried wrapped in a blanket - he could hardly stand up let alone walk. Videos of him showed he had been like it for a while. Made me very cross.
I had a Newfounland which developed a growth on her gum.I took her to the vet to be examined and the vet disgnosed the lump as a cancer which, due to its position was inoperable.I made he decision there and then she would not suffer and he vet put her to sleep. This person let his dog suffer for too long.IMO
