IE6 small taskbar

I am using IE6 and XP pro and have lost the little taskbar which sits on top of the main taskbar at the bottom. The one which tells you which page you are going onto and how much its downloaded. It just vanished and its doing my head in. Please help me!

Is it View > Toolbars > Links in IE?

sounds like you mean the status bar. to get it back click on view>status bar.
