I find myself hesitating in sharing my humour with my work colleagues.

Just yesterday my boss was having problems with her e-mail, so sent me a 'test' em-mail asking, "Did you receive this?". I wanted to e-mail back saying, "No", but thought better of it.

And just now I went to send a global e-mail and realised there was a typo. I had written 'c*ck' instead of 'coke'. A genuine mistake. Again, I considered leaving it in as it might raise a few giggles.

So what's your opinion? Should I leave the typo as is? Or should I be more professional in the workplace by trying to act my age? (I'm 22. Honest mister!)

the saying no to receiving the mail would have been ok, but be very wary of swearing, even in accidental "jest", to many it simply isn't funny and to many its offensive.

its very finbarr saunders and i expect mr cuck, mr fack, mr billocks, mr dock, mrs vegina, mrs finny etc etc think that "joke" gets even more hilarious every single time they hear it... the 5,000th time being the most funny

i am certainly not offended, but sometimes its just too obvious to be funny, and becomes tedious and actually makes the person making the joke seem a little sad - especially since they are doing it in office documents!

the giggles raised will more likely be polite 'responses' rather than humour, especially since its clear its been done deliberately rather than a genuine mistake

I would defo have sent the first one, and i'd leave the typo in, after all mistakes do happen, and acting your age sucks! ;)

someone just called me and said they had a "small query" and i so wanted to say "well thats unfortunate"

its not even that funny but my workplace is so dull today that these things are making me laugh
I would have replied to the email with a big fat NO!! ;-)
As for the **** - I used to work with one. His name was Matthew.
He was dead funny which made up for his second name. He once told me that when he was best man at his friends wedding he introduced himself as Matthew **** Middle name enourmous! Sorry but i thought that was funny.
