Do you celebrate Chritmas, and if so, do you also celebrate Eid (end of Ramadan)? If not, why not?

It seems to me that there is a similarity between Christmas and Eid, and I wondered how many people really observed both?

Many non-Christians celebrate Christmas, but I don't know how many celebrate Eid. What are your thoughts?

Like yuletide, Eid has turned into a good excuse for gluttony. Vast quantities of rich foods are consumed, as if to desperately make up for the moderation of the previous month. New clothes are worn and decorations are hung. There was even a minor trend of sending Eid cards, before texting took over. As for Santa, celebrants of Eid have no shortage of overdressed bearded men in flowing robes keeping odd hours and dispensing presents.

We celebrate Christmas in our own way.
Why on Earth would we celebrate Eid, a Muslim Festival when we are not Muslim?
Yes, I do celebrate Christmas.

Have been to other Festivals and celebrations in the past, my old family home was next door to a Temple (Formerly a Methodist Church). Less now though , don't get out as much.
I wouldn't call it celebrating. We are forced to have time off work so we make the most of it. I'd def celebrate it if it was in the summer :-)
I celebrate at Christmas time but do not celebrate Christmas.

Why on earth would I celebrate EID?
I'm puzzled why anyone would celebrate a blokes willingness to kill his son ... bizarre.
I celebrate Christmas as a time to share with my family
To tell them that I love them and want to share food and possessions
I love the Christmas music and the joy it generates, the idea of a poor family forced to leave home by a governmental decree
Taken in by people who did not in reality have room for them
Being kept warm by the animals in a stable
The shepherds who came to visit and give their support, not with money or presents but just being there
The Magi bringing gifts which were inappropriate but showed that they too cared
The star, something to aim for
The angels, hope and an appreciation of beauty
The flight to Egypt
Nothing has changed
I just wish I still have faith
I've never heard of Eid and wouldn't take any notice of it if I had, ignore Hannukah too but sure I'd join in if I had muslim or Jewish friends which I don't.
but sure I'd join in if I had muslim or Jewish friends

I'm not sure you would.
Not sure what you're saying but as I know nothing about one and limited about the other you may be right. I'd go along with the holiday armadillo!
what a load of old pony!
for one thing the Islamic Calendar is 11 days wrong every year so the whole things moves all the time anyway.
