Blood tests during pregnancy

My ex partner had several blood transfusions following a mountain-climbing accident in the Middle East 15 years ago.

If he had contracted a serious disease from these transfusions and I had been subsequently infected, would the midwife contact me to give me the results early or would she wait until the date I'm supposed to go and get the results anyway?

Thank you

If there are no problems with your blood tests then you would normally have to wait until your next midwife appointment to see them.
If there are any concerns with your results then your GP will contact your directly as soon as results are back.

Thanks a million. That's really reassuring. I kept thinking that if there was something really wrong that they would have contacted me before now but as it's my first pregnancy I don't really know much about how it works.

God knows how young mothers cope with it because I'm 36 and still find it all overwhelming and confusing!

Thanks again
You can always call your surgery and ask. I did and got grilled as to why i wanted to know (err how dumb are some receptionists). In the end they gave me results over phone.
Dont worry about being overwhelmed and confused. I was 32 and was exactly the same.
