Sounds lovely, emmie. I doubt he expects rent, but a nice gesture.

No, it's perfect - I'm sure he won't be expecting money.
Ah, so you decided to go. Glad you decided one way or t'other. I think £50 is plenty.

i have already given him other money for the two boys, so this will be for some nice wine hopefully..
As long as you can afford it Emmie, it sounds about right to me !

i might send him something for Xmas by Amazon, last year it was a litre bottle of Baileys... what else could i send do you think.
Sounds lovely, emmie. I doubt he expects rent, but a nice gesture.

they moved into new home recently, so they have more room now. Plus mum passing away this year its been a toughun.
do you think he needs money? I used to give my sister money when we stayed with her because she was always struggling; but if she hadn't been it would have felt like paying rent, and I'd never expect guests who stayed a few days to pay their way. Give him the wine or chocs instead.
I think £50 is fine if finances permit.

Is brother and family into fruit?
Maybe a monthly subscription to a fruit-of-the-month club?
Maybe a nice food and wine hamper?
Question Author
can't take the stuff with me, the wine and chocs that is as i have to go by cab and its 75 miles away, so too much to carry, thought if i give him the money he can choose what they want.
How about a cheese hamper instead of money?
Just give him the money Emmie - then he can do what he wants with it.
Dunno. How awful are you to put up with ?
I would have thought a cab was the ideal way of transporting victuals; much trickier if you go by train or bus.

brother suggested 50 quid a night and some brekkie thrown in, he always did have a sense of humour my little brother....
