why is it that during the summer, when we require more showers, because of feeling hot and sticky, my electric shower will only work properly before 6.30am? after this time it is freezing cold! my neighbour said they thought it was something to do with the water pressure. i don't know if this is true but it stays cold all day long! has anyone got any other ideas!
thanks.

Thissounds odd. It shouldn't be anything to do with the water pressure. Do the appropriate lights come on? Does it heat at all, even if you slow the flow down?
Almost sounds as if it's wired to Economy 7 and there's no power to it during the day, does the light come on after 06:30?
It sounds like Fitzer's right - check what time it'll start working OK in the evening.

sorry i haven't replied - been cooking!
yes all the lights come on, plenty of water it just doesn't heat it up at all.
spoke to neighbour again. they said their shower has been playing up as well, just not as often as mine!

we're not on economy 7.

i know this sounds daft but it seems to work alright in the winter!
What make and model is the shower, it all sounds very odd, the fact that it works ok in the winter when the inlet water is colder seems perverse. Something else to check would be that it is drawing power for the heater rather than just the LEDs, get someone to watch the electricity meter and then start the shower running, the spinning wheel in the meter should speed up quite considerably at this point. All in all it sounds like you need a plumber though.
'Starbar' might have an answer if he's around tonight.

thanks everyone. i think i'll have to get someone to look at it!
Sounds like you need a man who can to take a closer look.
But you will NEED an ELECTRICIAN and NOT a PLUMBER as Fitzer said, as this is an electrical appliance.
ours seems to bee doin that aswell :( brrrrr
xx
It could be that water pressure is abnormally low for some reason, and later in the day when more people are using water the pressure falls below the minimum required for the shower to operate safely, so the showers' inbuilt safety circuuits are removing the supply to the heater element.
Check your stop **** is fully open.
shouldn't of put a space in stopcock
