I have two corgette plants and this year is my first year growing them. I put them out a bit late, so obviously, they only started flowering at the beginning of the week.

Well, anyway, the flowers have fallen off and left stalks with nothing on them. Is this normal? We have had a terrible storm this week and high winds (i'm very coastal) would this be the cause. Can I still hope for a harvest in the future, or is it curtains for the corgettes?

danke in advance.

courgette plants have a male and a female flower the male flower will fall off. The female once fertilised will swell at its base to form a courgette. Just check for female flowers your flowers at the moment are most probabley all male.
To continue from YvonneM, if its you first time growing them, Just in case your not sure on the feed, the best is Manure water, if you've access to horses, then fill an Onion bag, and put it into a water butt, Its also good for your other veggies, but the Courgettes will apprciate it the most, also, as they get bigger they become more thirstier.

I water mine with nothing but that, each one gets half a watering can full twice. a day.

Good luck with them, they're worth it.

Thank's guys for that. I shouldn't give up hope just yet then!

I will keep a weather eye on the watering and try to get some kind of food for them!

Thanks again, much appreciated.
