As an excuse, it has merit for sheer invention, coming from a man who scored in the World Cup and is 5'5", it doesn't really stand up to anything approaching rational scrutiny!
Anyone remember Donald Telford, editor of the Observer when I took the paper (only for Clive James and Azed you understand). Described (I believe) by Private Eye as "small, but perfectly formed".

There's a story that the dapper lech sidled up to a newly recruited female journalist and said "I have every intention of making love to you.". To which the young woman responded: "Well, if you do and I ever get to find out about it there'll be all hell to play!".
Lazy stuff, Eddie, very lazy. We have lettuce and everything now y'know.

Anyway, addressing the adults now, somebody mentioned on the radio at some point that Spaniards aren't among the giants of the world and they've apparently had some success at the game.

Scottish football is pash and so are the vast majority of professionals in the game when stacked up against just about anybody.
We just have very hopeful/deranged fans. :-)

In the past Scotland have had some great players; Dalglish, Law, Jimmy Johnson etc.

There are dozens of modern greats, but unfortunately, none of them are eligible to play for England, they play for other countries who vaporise England on the field as a matter of course
