The difficulty with geese is that have no fear whatsoever.

You can't placate them by throwing them a large dog biscuit, which works with farm dogs. If you remonstrate with them, and try to frighten them, they just look upon that as a challenge.

The Romans used to take them on their manoeuvres. Each night, they would make a marching camp and set out a sentry at each corner, together with some geese staked out. Sometimes the sentry would fall asleep but the geese never did.

In the event of the Camp being attacked and held under siege, they could also eat the geese !

Nasty creatures IMHO.
They are very loud alarm clocks - I know that.
