Desktop turned sideways

My destop images and screen have turned sideways.
Buy putting my monitor on its right side I get a straight screen!

Right click on the desktop and check out the properties for the video (graphics) related stuff. You might find somewhere which allows you to rotate the image on the screen in there. Usually the flat panel screens have that option and you've either had someone mess with it or theres a hotkey combination which does it which is how its happened

this happens if you press control + alt + left arrow. I think it's control + alt + up arrow to rectify it.

AltGr and upward arrow undoes it too (and Alt Gr and left arrow redoes it). It is probably quite easy to do this by accident.

i have this problem often. i end up having to do system restore, so you'll have to do that if nothing else works.
