desktop view - how can i get a certain one??

my laptop was on standby so i tapped the keyboard randomly (just above the touchpad) - and all the windows that were open went smaller and turned sideways!

it was as though they were books on a bookshelf - angled just enough to see what each page was...

I cannot work out how i did this...but id like to use the option again....as ive always got loads of windows open...

any ideas?

i have just clicked on the 3rd little square , bottom left of screen near the windows logo button and it changes to the style you want. clicked on any part of the screen and it goes back to normal.
