No. It’s neither wise nor right. You cannot choose what sex you are. You are either born male or female, and no amount of chopping things off or adding things on will change that. Well, quite so, Deskdiary, although then again transpeople would agree with you. You don't need to have surgery to be trans*, which is about what gender you identify as and not what sexual organs you were born with.

There are some transpeople who never get the surgery, either because it's too expensive or because they don't see a need personally to achieve their aim of living as their identified gender.
