Think its COURSE as I have SE at the end. There are some very vague answers to this cryptic crossword in general. Several answers can't see connection to the clue!!!

Thanks for your help, sorry I was so vague. It has to be course, already had _o_ _ se. I agree some are rather tenuous, but maybe rather dim this end.
