Hi

Just bought a great pair of mens boots but they are soooooo slippy. Even on carpet!! Is there anything I can do to improve he traction? I have heard you can buy rubber soles and stick them on the base of the shoes, but where would you buy such a thing? I would appreciate your help

Are they leather soled ? If so just walk them in for a while on pavements, concrete or other hard surfaces.

I have the same problem every time I get mine rebuilt with leather soles - can be quite lethal especially in the wet.

They will roughen up in a short time and will be OK.

woolworths used to sell these stick on soles. You'd probably need to match them with stick on heels to keep the balance. Mebbe best to take them to one of those 'heel bars' and have the job done properely!
In my local high street there is a branch of a well known chain of dry-cleaners that has a display board in the window of various styles of stick on soles. I assume this is another extra service that they offer and might be worth your while checking out. Good Luck.

Whenever we buy new shoes or boots, we always put them on, then go outside & rough the soles up on the patio - it certainly helps to make them non-slip!

Good luck.

Take sandpaper and rough up the soles of the boots with it.
