How do/would you react to someone staring at you?
Would you..
1) Ignore it and carry on
2)stare back (maybe threateningly)
3)stare back but question the person as to why they were staring
4)look the other way

Had a couple of experiences in the past few weeks or so of this, could be a number of things obviously (mistaken identity etc) but my initial reaction has always been to ask what the f*** they are looking at, but have learnt to bite my tongue and just ignore it.

still a bit unnerving though and just wondered how others deal with such an experience (if you ever have of course)....

Thanks.

I suppose it depends on how you feel on the day. Just change your attitude when it happens again and tell yourself it's an innocent case of mistaken identity or perhaps they have learning difficulties! Just ignore it. Maybe you're a bit stressed?
I used to be a bit confrontational if I thought someone was staring at me , but I learned my lesson a couple of years back when I was out with OH and grandkids. A woman kept staring first at us then at the kids and I didn't like that at all. I was getting angry and it must have showed 'cos she came and apologised for staring but turned out she worked with my daughter in their nursing days and recognised the kids from facebook. makes me squirm when I think how close I came to really losing it with someone like that. I would have been in the doghouse. I now ignore all starers. Lol!!
I don't do any of the things in Nailit's list. I just smile at them and ask "Can I help you?"
I stare back till they look away !
