I was treating myself to a small bar of wholenut chocolate - I had ate one square when phone rang and I was on for about 10 minutes. Mr Maxie ate the rest of the chocolate leaving the nuts.

I hope he will be ok - I know he will be. Wee rascal.

//I hope you're having a sick joke// - may not have been an ideal response.

JJ, only repeating what others have said but keep an eye on him - you'll know if he's out of sorts.
Snowball, you're reply was a bit Ott.
Gawd blimey, bloody muts their greedy gits aren't they.
Our dog would eat anything if you let her, sometimes hard to stop them stealing stuff though isn't it.
Hope Maxie will be fine, jj.

Went out for a walk last night for an hour and half and he is great this morning. His little perky self. But it will be a warning to me. Ta ra/
Glad to hear he's ok, Jennyjoan.
Good news JJ.
I am glad that Maxie is okay, they are sneaky and fast when food is involved.

There are actually quite a few things that are really bad for dogs and cats. Nice normal food like raisins and grapes. It's a minefield.

My first dog used to scoff a Yorkie bar every Friday (in the 1980s) and was okay - but he was nine stone. :-)

Apologies if it came across as a bit OTT - I was just worried about the dog
I like you jj, but I think that comment was ludicrious ! I hope Maxie is ok.
hereIam - Smowball, like the rest of us, was concerned about Maxie.

I am really glad that he is okay but we were all aware that it could have made Maxie really sick.

Just an update. Maxie has been great today. Even ate a good dinner at lunchtime - sometimes he doesn't eat until quite late - so that was a good sign.

Anyway thanks all for your concerns - I sure you know that yous are all a bunch of animal lovers and that is great to see.
That's good jj x
My dog once ate all the Christmas chocolates hanging on the tree with no ill effects.

I never hung chocolate decs again after that. We live and learn.
I read this thinking that Mr Maxie was your husband Jenny!
Although it is wise to be careful, a lot of the dog poison/health tales are much overdone (as Maxie has shown), much like the human ones we're bombarded with from day to day. Not that I'm encouraging a canine chocolate binge you understand.

Glad to hear Maxie's fine - the little thief :-)
