I saw this on CH4 News last night and it was horrific. Its a case of the Media, this time CH4, bringing it to our attention.

CH4 and the BBC get a lot of stick on here but thank God they are prepared to stick their necks out with investigations like this.

The Church of England wee left floundering as usual !

// I sincerely hope not. The church doesn’t teach what Islam teaches. //

um yeah and no

well spotted amongst the dross Andie anyway

Does a Church in the C of E serve the same social and religious purpose as a mosque in Islam ?

very good point amongst all the AB dross of "fings aint wot they used to be" or "fings ARE what they used to be and shouldnt be!"

Met a Jesuit in Minya researching exactly this point in 1978 and have often pondered the answer. He said no- and asked me not to point out he was a Jay.

Oh the basic answer was no - as mosques are independent and not under a hierarchy as christians are.
PP - It matters not which faith is involved, or the structures of its hierarchy - people who use the umbrella of religion either to justify their appalling behaviour, or to hide it, are the same the world over - just the umbrella's colours change, not the minds of the people under them.
