By definition, if you are the family of someone like this, he is still family, so you are naturally going to point out the best aspects of your relative.

Similarly - no-one has friends and tells the media 'He was my friend, but actually he was low-life scum ...' because people don't see their friends in that light.

With regard to the OP - if the police are not revealing info, it is usually because something is going on in terms of their investigations.

Most likely scenario is that when stopped by the police he reached for his gun so was shot.

That's my thinking, Jack. I'd like to know what the non-gun related injuries sustained by the other passengers were and who caused them. Serious enough to be hospitalised.
