stung last sunday and it still hurts!

I suspect I was stung by some critter last sunday. I didn't feel anything at the time but some spots of blood dripped onto my hand and I thought I must have cut myself. Since then I have been kept awake by the pain of what looks like it might have been a sting. the area around the bite (about the size of a 1p) swelled and is hard and very painful and is still painful as I type. Anyone know what it is and why have I reacted to it like this. Also when will the hardness go and the pain :-(

It sounds to me like there is some infection there...it probably wont go away without any treatment..you should go to your GP for antibiotics before it gets any worse x

oh yes ..and once you start taking the antibiotics the pain and swelling should go down fairly quickly!! x

not sure what it is or how long it will last but i was just wondering if u have taken any antihistamines? as they might help xXx
