I have just been bitten by an insect that moves like a spider, but on closer inspection only has 6 legs and 2 small wings, but doesn't fly. Its about 1cm long, pale brown and a small black bit on its back end. Does anyone know how I can find out what it is? Am I going to die?????

Most likely to be Black tipped soldier beetle : http://www.nationalinsectweek.co.uk/beetle_gallery.htm scroll down or see: http://www.arkive.org/species/ARK/invertebrates_terrestrial_and_freshwater/Rhagonycha_fulva/?size=large click more images.

Common beetle. Active June - Sept. Carnivorous, so may come back and drag you out to finish off the meal......
