Does anyone have any information or a website on the equipment used for 'on the ground' weather data collection. Thanks.

The white louvred boxes that contain weather recording instruments are called Stevenson's screens and you may find more data if youdo a Google search on this term. Otherwise, this site will give you a start. http://www.coolweather.co.uk/weatherstations.htm#T

the basic equipment though is a recording barometer, recording anemometer, rainfall guage and recording thermometer. You can add in such luxuries as a sunshine guage if you wish. Most of this stuff is now automatable using a small computer nd a visit to radio shack, so the old rolls of paper are not necessary.
