With the Swedish prosecution coming especially to London, and now with the Trump factor, wouldn't it be nice for this tawdry affair to come to an end?

Wkileaks played their Trump card during the US election.
They released loads od damaging stuff on Clinton, and I am sure Donald will be grateful.
Not sure if Assange can be pardoned as he hasn't been prosecuted over anything, but the US could recind the request for his extradition and trial.

One good turn deserves another.

Quite!
Perhaps Trump will show his gratitude by appointing him Embasador to Ecuador
I've said all along on this site that the Swedish authorities got this all wrong with their bloody mindedness in refusing to interview Assange at the embassy, a fact which the Swedish courts have acknowledged. Some charges have time lapsed.

Assange must rest a little easier with a little more hope on the horizon though he will have to keep digging in for a bit longer yet.

Would he accept a pardon, for something he's never done wrong?

Or perhaps Hillary Clinton could be pardoned for conspiring to have an innocent man falsely accused of a criminal offence?

She (Hillary) is on record as having said, just before the revelations, "Can't we drone this guy?
JJ,
Not sure what you are saying. Is Assange innocent of leaking Government secrets, or not guilty of sexual assault? Or both?
"Can't we drone this guy?"
Unfortunately that story is not true. It's a lie. Snopes debunks it here...

Both, Gromit

He didn't leak anything. Stuff was leaked to him, which showed, amongst other things, all sorts of government wrong doing.

Having been exposed, the authorities then tried to exact revenge by characterising his brand of online investigative journalism as a national security risk.

When the European authorities said "don't be silly", these mysterious women appeared out of nowhere, to fabricate a basis for Secretary Clinton getting her hands on him ... which, on the past record of people who have stood in her way, would have resulted in him "killing himself in custody" or "suffering a fatal accident" or some such.

So ya, he's innocent of both.
JJ - you certainly have a vivid imagination!

One criminal offence Assange is guilty of is jumping bail.
Even GCHQ thought that Assange was "framed" and the charges against him were "a fit up".
"Perhaps Trump will show his gratitude by appointing him Embasador to Ecuador"

LOl.
Oh I think a position as Cyber Security Consultant to Raúl Castro in Cuba bekons.

Gromit; Reading through your Snopes link, it neither proves nor disproves anything, and it is highly likely that it was initiated by a Clinton supporter.
