how did you know he is jim360 from AB ?
The life of the law has not been logic; it has been experience

... accrding to some lowly American judge, not a British Chancellor
Because that's his name Baz and we've seen him before - on Uni Challenge for example.
Question Author
Bazile - I remembered him from Univ challenge and he told Sandi Toksvig he was "jaguar"
right, so he told us here on AB that he was appearing on UC
I'm going to have nightmares about Monty Don for years to come :(
no I was thinking of this erm 1900 paper

https://www.jstor.org/stable/1322630?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents

.... when chief justice holmes ( 1) condemns as fallacious the notion that " the only force in development of Law is logic " ....

Oliver Wendell Holmes ( author of autocrat of the breakfast table etc ) obviously disagreed with the then widespread notion that "the Law was but logic etc "
Hi Jim
the hero appears

Hi jim we were just talking about you .....
Question Author
jim - you did well! Bad luck with the questions in the final!
Hi there jim - nice to put a face to a name
Gosh, jim, just had a look.. 15 to 1 and Only Connect are the best quizzes around i.m.o.. Well done! I hadn't realised you were so very young. Good for you. :)
The way the questions fall is always a pain, especially when you know the answers to the ones around you! The first one I got wrong I had the right answer in my head too, but couldn't pick between Monty Don and Alan Titchmarsh as I've not seen Gardeners' World since Don started hosting so I didn't realise he'd ever left... after that I was basically doomed.

Still, I suppose suggesting that the Bay of Biscay is somewhere near India might earn me a slot in Private Eye's"Dumb Britain" feature, so that's something to look forward to at least.
That's right, always be positive. :) x
I didnt know who wrote " The Zinc Bed"
or perhaps it was the Zinc Bath

hmm but I do know where the Bay of Biscay is

Yes that was a silly answer - everybody knows it's near to the Cape of Good Hope
Isn't the Bay of Biscuit where the "Bourbons" come from? Or near to "Nice"?
