Peeling Boiled Eggs

i make egg salad most days, and have peeled plenty of eggs over the ast year. How come some peel really easy and others are totally messy?
is there something i can do to them to make them always easy?

Plunging them into cold water immediately after boiling them then put in the fridge helps.
There's the cold water tip and also the newer the egg, the better it peels - or so I find.
On the contrary Jourdain! The older the egg the easier it peels.
I thought that too.
I just shake the pan a few times, once I have emptied the water.
