i renewed my passport in march 2006 but it is not one of the new bio-metric type.I have heard that if your passport is renewed after october 2005 and you want to holiday in the U.S.A. and your passport is not the new bio-metric type then you have to travel to london for a visa at the U.S Embassy. Can anyone tell me if this is correct please because we have a chance of going to Orlando in September.

No it is not correct.

The date it comes in is for passports renewed after October 2006.

You are OK with your March 2006 passport until it expires.

My passport we renewed in March 06 and we've just been to, and returned from New Zealand via LAX.

Ok we only stayed in LA a few hours & didn't leave the departure lounge but we had no problems with my/our passports.
