If a person has parents that were from different countries and that person was born in the UK, could they hold both passports from there parents countries and an british passport too ? What about the grandparents of the person also, if they were born in different countries to their children?

e.g Paul lives in the England, his mother was born in the USA but her parents are from Jamaica. Paul's father is from Brazil. Both Pauls parents live in the England with him.

Paul is 20 and was born in the UK, his mother and father have lived in the 5 years before he was born.

His Mother was born in the USA and her parents came to the US from Jamaica. The Jamaican high commision website says you can apply for citizenship through your grandparents.

So could Paul hold a passport/citizenship from Jamaica, USA and Brazil aswell as his English passport ??

As far as the UK is concerned, then yes.

The other countries may have differing rules as to what entitles you to citizenship and whether you are even allowed dual citizenship.
You can definitely get dual nationality and have two passports, I have travelled with someone who has US and EU passports. They were born in England whilst their US father was here, yet was broought up in US with US Dad and EU Mum.

What the UKBA say

Often if you're British, you can get a second nationality, but if you wanted to get a third the second nationality you already had would be forfeited at request of third nationality (if that makes sense!). It just depends on the country(ies) you're already a national of and the one you want to become a national of..
We have a friend who has 3 Passports:~
Irish,she was born there.
USA,her Father is American.
UK,Her Mother is British.
Yes indeed. My friend has Spanish, German and UK passports.
