Us Series Like Spooks

Hi, someone told me that some years back there was an American series that was very similar to the UK series called Spooks. He said it was very near the mark to what was going on in the real world. Can anyone tell me what series is called. Hopefully if someone comes up with the name it might jog his memory as he said it was an extremely good series.

24 and to some extent NCIS are very similar to Spooks.

it may not be the one you are after but Person of Interest is, in my opinion, the second best thing on TV.

I have just been told it was on TV before the UK series of Spooks came out. He still has no idea who was in it or when it was exactly aired
