My girlfriend is travelling to London from Australia and I was wondering how she would go about getting from Heathrow into London.

1.Is there a bus or train going that way?
2.How much would that cost?
3.How long does the jouney take?
4.How often do the bus/trains leave Heathrow?
5.Specifically she needs to get to Bayswater train station. Is this easy enough to navigate for a London first timer?

Thankyou so much for your time.

Can't help you with prices, but to get into London is very easy. There is a mainline express into Paddington, or the Underground.

The underground will be slower (more stops obviously) but I should imagine (I've not done that journey for a long time) that it will be anything between 25 - 45 minutes to get into London itself.

Hi arthur, There is a train direct from heathrow into london, From heathrow central get the train to Paddington NR, get out walk to Paddington underground, then get on a district or cicle line train to Bayswater, will take about 30 mins sorry I don't know cost, this journey is quite straight forward, travelling on the underground is quite safe, just tell her not to get into conversations with some of the weirdos around paddington, the trains are pretty frequent, they used to be about every 20 minutes, might be quicker or slower now, Good luck, Ray

The Heathrow Express is the quickest way - to Paddington, then Circle/District Line one stop to Bayswater. It runs every 15 minutes. The whole journey should be about half an hour.

However, it's very expensive - 13.50 for the Hex and 3 for the tube.

For 4 she can get the tube all the way to Bayswater with one change at Earls Court - 45-50 minutes, a bit longer from terminal 4.

With two changes (at Hammersmith or Barons Court as well as Earls Court) it takes no longer but there are easy cross platform transfers, rather than having to come up from the tube to the surface at Earls Court for the one change option.

Bayswater is walking distance from Paddington - out of the station front, right into Praed Street leading to Craven Road & Craven Hill, left into Leinster Terrace, Right on to Bayswater Road & right again at Queensway station (which is very close to Bayswater station).
go to www.tfl.gov.uk click on tube, you can use the journey planner for exact instructions, it also tells you how long it would take. Be aware at weekends quite a few lines currently have no train service on parts of the line because major upgrade work is taking place.
