I'm getting married at the beginning of July and going to Mexico for our honeymoon.

We're in an all-inclusive resort south of Cancun.

In addition to the honeymoon it will be my fiancee/wife's 30th birthday while we're there and I want to do something special for her. She loves animals and wildlife.

Any suggestions?

one of the best eco parks on the planet is Xaret, the Hols rep will sort the trip out for you and get you a good deal and the buses are air conditioned, it is superb and take an underwater camera!

Brilliant.

Many thanks.

A real treat would be to go to see the Whale Sharks. That would be the right time of the year for seeing them. For more information see - http://www.yucatanwildlife.com/species/fishes. htm
There is a good chance to see Green Sea Turtles at Akumal, which is south of Cancun.
Xaret and Xelha are both brilliant wildlife parks. However we went "swimming with dolphins" on Isla Muyeres (not sure if I have spelt that correctly) and I felt very sorry for the dolphins. The sea was choppy that day and under normal circumstances they would go to deep water to shelter but weren't able to. Xaret swdolphins was better.
The dolphins at the first place memntioned in the above post are only let out of their pens when someone pays for them, Xcaret is defo better

I think Dolphins will definitely be on the agenda - she sponsors 3 and I'm sure she'd love to swim with them.

Will try the second place - I'm not of the opinion that dolphins should be caged up to swim with humans - my understanding is that they generally love swimming with humans, so why force them tio when they'll probably do it anyway!

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

Don't go to the holiday rep for a trip to Xcaret - get a taxi there and back - there are plenty at all the hotels, and there are plenty at Xcaret waiting to bring you back to your hotel. Just agree the price with the driver before you get in and buy your entrance tickets when you get there. Doing it this way costs a fraction of the official tours and you have the advantage of being able to arrive and leave in your own time. You can swim with the dolphins there too - and it's wonderful. It's a great place - plenty of restaurants, plenty to do and see - and quite unforgettable.
