The may not be of course, but perhaps they're waiting for someone to become available who has previously won the Premier League and FA Cup. Someone like Manuel Pelligrini? You heard it here first.

They are hardly likely to sack LVG while they are still in 3 competitions.

However I think LVG may resign at the end of the season.

I very much doubt they will appoint an ex Man C manager, good though he is.
For all the speculation about LVG's future – and in particular who would take over – I'm surprised that one name hasn't been mentioned. Ranieri.
It's not that outlandish an idea when you think about Ian Holloway's promoted Blackpool a few seasons back. I was never entirely sure why he left, but could there have been some “Jump before you're pushed” about it? Not that he'd done anything wrong; just the opposite. But when a lowly team hits the heights like that you wonder if the board tell themselves they now qualify to attract a much higher profile manager, so the existing one may feel his future is uncertain.
I'm not saying Ranieri is the perfect Man U fit, but there's no doubt he's a great manager and part of his skill is having the full support of his squad – not LVG's strength – and he may feel, come the end of the season, that he needs to make use of a very good CV before Leicester show him the door for the sake of bringing in what they consider to be a bigger name.
Oh, and he could come as a package with a certain Mr Vardy.

While agreeing that LVG seems the wrong man for UTD I don't see the point of sacking him now. Perhaps by the summer the 'Special one's' head will have stopped swelling enough for him to enter the gates at Old Trafford without harming himself ?
I have thought that 'The Special One' would get the job when the time was right. With Ryan Giggs as Assistant still gaining knowledge as he is not ready to be the main man just yet.
Who would want to work for a club that sacks their manager a s soon as they're not top of the league?
Maybe they are waiting for the Extra special one ! However I am not available for the moment .
Heard it here first?

Nah!
