I have just read this article, what a vile man Parkinson was, but what baffles me is why his 3 grown up daughters that he fathered with his wife have never tried to contact their younger half-sister, just goes to show what horrible people they are I suppose!

Parkinson has that Tory quality - the ability to pretend that something 'unpleasant' simply never happened. He never acknowledged his affair, or his daughter, because it was simply an inconvenience to his political and public image, and it would appear that his family lined up right behind him with the same attitude. I would be deeply ashamed to be...

It's a very long time since I expected royalty, politicians, or leaders of business to have higher standards. Maybe better at hiding their goings on, maybe.
I refrained from comment in my original thread on this subject. But I feel a comment coming on now.

Parkinson was, as well as an adulterer, also a liar.

But this isn't a party-political point, as adulterers and liars occur in all walks of life. Parkinson was just one of many, and will be remembered for as such.
Well his passed has come back " to bite him on the bum " he will be remembered for his heartless behaviour rather than a politician . karma ?
We're agreed then. Life isn't like The Waltons and all tories are ***.
Rhymes with fast bards.

Drat! And there's me thinking I'm not a bad person. :o/
I don't care what political party he belonged to.
^And neither should anyone else ....... but it seems they do. Strange.
Wasn't Alan Clark another of Thatcher's favourites? He famously kissed, and later told about it in his dairies, a mother and daughter.
Then there were sir Keith Joseph and Rhodes Boyson, among others. The Cabinet meeting must sometimes have seemed like a salon of all the perversions.
Yes Sandy. All together with that paragon of virtue the "Honorable" Labour drunk Robin Cook MP
Strong drink never interfered with Labour politicians ability to do their jobs. Dick Crossman and George Brown come to mind.
I find it quite ironic that a comment such as “Parkinson has that Tory quality - the ability to pretend that something 'unpleasant' simply never happened” is awarded as part of a best answer when it’s very clear that the author and his supporters have the ability to pretend that this conduct is uniquely representative only of people who vote Conservative. Not a lot of thought has gone into that one.
Was Robin Cook really a drinker? He had the look of an abstemious vegetarian about him.
A wrong un is a wrong un, however he ties his shoelaces.
^ Indeed - and no apologies to the person who objects on another thread to the word 'indeed'. (I've forgotten who he/she is).
I quite like 'indeed' does what it says on the tin ;-)
^It does indeed. :o)

My word you are in a whimsical mood tonight Sandy. You have a strange choice of virtuous Labour MPs. Nice photo I will dig up for you to see a Labour sot who is capable of being an "upstanding" MP

There you are. Not an unsual pose of Brown "upstanding". Read the link. Even disgraced himself with the Bishop of Lima!! You admire some strange MPs!!
Scientists have proven that a drunken Labour sot does not trump a Conservative with a wandering honourable member.
