Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

I didn't even think of trying to fit the entries into the grid until I had cold-solved all but six. A couple of false starts, but as usual with this sort of puzzle once a few had slotted together the rest followed without too much trouble. Tough, though. Many thanks, MynoT.

That was tough - after a gap in tackling Listeners for a large part of last year due to work, building work and children, New Year's resolution was to get back into the Listener-solving groove. Though this one was going to end my run at one, but the NW corner came together nicely after a couple of educated guesses at 1A and 1D (in conventional numbering). Then after a couple of wrong turns and some long hard staring at a couple of recalcitrant clues, the SE corner yielded a little and eventually the penny dropped.

To me it seems (relatively) clear that the Xs should be used, and the 'modern' reference is to distinguish where there are alternative Xs for some clashes, but we will see what line the editor take in due course!
