What could your parents do that would be memorable once they've gone?
eg., a piece of artwork, poem, song......Something else?

Retrochic, Get these recordings transferred to a memory stick or DVD before they too become obsolete. There are loads of companies offering such a service- Usually costs around £25 or so....
Matheous -have you any links? These video tapes are from the 80's and I have an audio tape on a reel of me singing in 1969 - think that's well past its sell by date lol!
We too have lots of photos etc but the giggles in my Mother's voice were priceless, my daughters had never thought of their grandmother and great Aunt being teenagers, fancying lads and going out on the razz!
Retrochic, our local shop that prints out photos from memory chips will do the video to DVD thing, its about 35 quid per tape.
Iff you google reel tape to digital, there are companies that do this too.
Thank you very much woofgang I'm on to it -just thought it would make lovely presents for my children now they are parents themselves.
Every year I write a Christmas story, to be distributed amongst the clan. I hope that this will last in their memories. This year is a (rather good, I think)
ghostly one. NO - I don't know how to do the technology to share it with you all. It is on Word and that's as far as I can go apart from e-mailing it to children or printing it off.

Retrochic, I'm not sure what happened to my post that advised you to try to get your 'old' recordings transferred to current media so you can still enjoy them.
There are loads of company's offering this type of service- usually around £25-30....
