Hi all

I've had nothing but trouble with my ex partner as per previous posts. With regards to over payment to me of £50.

We've been speaking on and off for a few days and he's seen a gig we both wanted to attend and asked me to book the tickets which I stupidly did.

Now the money has been returned to my bank and he wants the £50 or he will call the police as I've stolen it.

Now my dilemma is that I now feel I should keep it as I booked the gig tickets totalling £52.

If he does call the police what do you think will happen? Will they side with me and say I should keep it as I've purchased the tickets? He's just stressing me out no end now.

Yes I was a mug to start talking to him again and to buy the tickets and I instantly regretted it!!

Oh and to add I'd sent the money to the wrong account he told me but I'm a message now he said the money had gone into his Barclays account!! Even though he told me he had no access to any other accounts. And that I was just messing about to keep him in my life!
With respect, you have made a rod for your own back, I don't think you will take advise if it was given.
Whose money is it?
Question Author
He owed me money and the last payment went through twice.
Went through twice?
Accidentally?
Notify the bank and they should sort it out.
It is not your money.

I've done that. I returned it to what I thought was his bank but he said it wasn't. I just want to know where I stand on this. Yes he overpaid me but I then paid for our tickets to see a gig, so by my reckoning I should keep the money to cover the costs. But he's now threatening me with the police and saying I've stolen the money
Do you have a receipt for paying money into his account?
If you have, you are OK.
The concert tickets are a separate issue.
Police would not be interested.

Pete I've had the police call me before saying I'd stolen it. While another police station said they have no authority to arrest me for supposed theft
just call his bluff, tell him you've reported him to the police for harassment.

And change your phone number.
Question Author
He's not actually allowed to contact me as he already has a harassment order. I've only been communicating to deal with this money issue. I'm bored of him now so I'll block him. Just can't be dealing with police at my door again!!
