The polls also got the last election wrong.
Considering that every "newspaper" in the country started slagging off Corbyn even before he was elected, it's not that surprising.

Meantime, a party that broke every single election promise it made during its previous tenure, not only managed to get itself re-elected (with 63% voting against it) but has already started breaking the promises it made in that campaign.

"Gullible" hardly begins to describe anyone with a net worth of less than a couple of million who supports the Tories.
