Concerns over the new college

I like how at every meeting about the new college that's being built people have asked 'will it be finished on time' and it's the question on the top of the list of frequently asked questions on the website. Yet I heard, 2 months after they started building, they were already 2 weeks behind, although i'm not sure if they've made that time up yet or not, or if they're even more behind now . . . .What do you think the chances of it being built by May are, considering they have to have the roof on before winter sets in to be able to do the inside, and we've already had bad snow, and the roof's not on yet?

Did you ever find out what all that banging was, Molly. I don't recall you telling us.

Which point doc?

A sensible query molly.......I'd imagine that if this building project is like most others....no-it won't be completed on time.

I've watched Grand Designs enough to know that... ;-)
It's good to get behind early, mollykins-it gives them more time to catch up!
I wouldn't worry about it a syou can't influence the outcome. Most projects of this nature hit snags but some contingency should have been built in. If the contract stipulates a completion date and there is a good system of rewards or penalties then it's more likely that it will finish on time

molly, it will entirely depend on the pressures on the builders, the sort of construction, where they are getting the supplies from, weather, all sorts. Impossible for us to say. Most new schools and colleges are made ready for opening at the start of the new academic year by the time they are fitted out - i.e. September.

How about Society and Culture, doc, or even Technology?
Doc -you'll be put on the naughty step again -leave her be -she hasnt wished you dead !!
Theres plenty on here that you could have a go at but wouldnt as you know there would be repurcussions and they are way more immature, narcisstic(sp?) and down right time consuming than Molly -least her threads are unique :) XXX

Give it a rest doc, your interjections are getting a tad tedious.

Never found out starb . . . .

this is the question, although they do say they aim to be finished two weeks early : Will the building be open on time for a September 2011 start?

A: Yes. We are planning to be able to move in during early August and will have a number of specialist spaces available to allow us to start to install important elements such as IT equipment, servers etc. The builders, Morgan Sindall, are aiming to finish two weeks early

But the website doesn't say when it was last updated . . .

Couldn't have put it better myself boxy.
But he does add kisses. And I think he really loves Molly, like all of us.
As you can see, doc, she is polite, she took time out to answer my question, although it wasn't about her thread.
