Don`t know what you mean by posh. If you mean all the locals are standing on street corners eating chips with curry sauce from take-away vans, no. If you mean all the locals are sitting at home drinking Prosecco from Waitrose, possibly. It`s just a normal Surry town with quite a nice town centre with some character and some ok shops
correction "Surrey" I`m obviously not posh enough to spell correctly :)
If you're from Dagenham, Basildon or Doncaster, Guildford is 'posh'

If you're from Royal Tunbridge Wells or Bath you can afford to 'look down your nose' at Guildford.

Thank you for that link-very helpful! I live 'up North' so never been to Surrey before!!
Blimey - don't go thinking that everywhere 'down south' is posh! Yes, there are some posh places, but there are up north aswell. I think you'll find that most towns and cities have nice areas and not so nice areas, so it depends where in Guildford you friends live as to whether it's posh or not.
Oop- your relatives even!
