Is it okay to use a portable DVD player on a plane ?

Hi,
Have a 9 or 10 inch DVD player I'd like to have the option to use on a 5hrs+ plane journey. I'd use headphones obviously. Would this be a problem ?

I can't see why not - the only electronic devices they're bothered about afaik are ones that transmit a signal.

They will not allow it during take off or landing, but during the flight - no problem.
