Nothing wrong with Luton. What are you expecting?

Been told its fairly small nothing like Gatwick, but the reviews say its disgusting, dark and dingy, toilets are filthy, hardly any shops, restaurants very expensive. x
It is small compared to Gatwick.

Dark and dingy filthy toilets...don't think so because I would have noticed...

Hardly any shops....There's enough. Who shops at an airport...

Restaurants very expensive....same as every airport I've ever been to.
I agree with ummmm.
I'm also of the thinking 'who cares'

It's not a day out...

Oh thats good then, shops... yes my daughter just loves to shop at airports, dont ask me why but thats the best bit for her. xx
unless you have a massive flight delay ;o)
small Gatwick (or big Manston probably, I've not been to Manston). There are trains and coaches to London, if that's any help.

Cos i hate airports, i always feel sick just the thought of an airport, always have done, but the flying dosn't bother me x

Jno we are getting a connection taxi, we dont use the carparks. x
ummmm, you have to check in just as early at Luton as at Heathrow, so the more shops you have the more you can while the time away in them. You don't have to buy anything (I never do, who needs extra stuff to lug on holiday with you).
I just go to the pub :-)

Check in times....I have never checked in 2 hours before my flight.
Same as umm.
you're living life on the edge there, ummmm... Luton's got a lot of cheap airlines (not just Ryanair and EasyJet): arrive late and you go home again. (In fact you can even be denied boarding if you arrive in time but they can't handle their own queues, though I think only Ryanair would do that.)
I've only flew from Luton a few times. They were long haul so not budget.

Other than that I usually fly from Birmingham...avoid Ryanair like the plague. Did you see my 'cheap flights' video I posted?
yes I did, hilarious, I've sent it to friends (and travellers).
Luton is a dump compared to Brighton Airport (or "Gatwick" as they like to call themselves)

... but ... the car park is REALLY close to the Terminal building.

You do seem to get sent along a series of dingy corridors to get to the departure gate, and you start to wonder if you've taken a wrong turning.

Then you have to walk across the tarmac to get to your plane.

But then ... I may be a bit biased, because Gatwick is THE BEST airport !!

=0)
that'd be the Gatwick where the fingers are a mile long and the moving walkways don't move and there are never enough immigration officers? Or maybe there's another Gatwick.

Give me Changi any day.
Gatwick with the fabbest airport hotels and shops.

Changi ?

Bit inconvenient if you live in the Home Counties !
My favourite airport is Knock....it's been done up now but it use to remind me of a large cowshed.
