what do you think of this?

do you think a few is ok? - i mean why should you just discard items that may have meant a lot to you throughout your life just because you are a bit older?

or do you have loads, and dont care because you like them, and they hard no-one?

or do you think having any toys is weird or something?

cheers

I can understand someone keeping their first teddy or something....beyond that is not normal.
Toys????

Please elaborate. Are these the sort of toys you buy from Argos or the sort you get from Ann Summers?
My 5 yr old nephew has just got a battery operated hover craft/flying saucer type thing... it's great. I might get one for myself.
My OH has a garage full of tonka trucks, diggers, cement mixers etc. He also has boxes upon boxes of action man action figures (I'm not allowed to call them dolls lol) complete with weapons, clothes, transport the lot. He'd get rid of me before he'd part with any of them.

*Huff
lol i was thinking the wrong sort of toys...

i ihave a few teddies from when i was born but that's about it although that hover flying saucer thingy sounds quite interesting
MissN, would your OH mind if I came over so we could play Action Man together? I'll even bring my Scalectrix
I'm 41 and still have Ming the cat, Lippy Lion, Peter Rabbit (complete with 'Action Man' fatigues) and Blue Teddy.

My 5 year old daughter loves playing with them (under careful supervision as they're pretty decrepit!)
Funny you should say that bob he's just bought some new tyres and 'bushes' (whatever they are) for his 400 series scalextric. He had it all over the bluudy floor the other day complete with little blue and silver pit stop guys..... What The Funicular?
OMG....do you feel like you're in a relationship with a child?
MissN, don't judge him, instead look at yourself. Is he the odd one for doing something he enjoys, or are you the odd'n for criticising him?

(PS The answer is you!)
I have a dolls house been working on it for about 2 years now only the lounge to do... playroom in the loft is a talking point
LOL ummmm I certainly do sometimes but it's because he's a man, not because of his toys
Still got my hoop and stick.
Keep as many toy keepsakes as you wish. Buy more if you want. What is weird is letting on so others can take the mickey. We are only ever sure of one life, do whatever pleases you so long as it doesn't adversely affect others.
I agree with ummm, aside from a childhood teddy or car, having kids toys when you are an adult is slightly disturbing.
I have my teddy, and my OH still has his, they are sat on a chair in the front room!
Other then that it is just my collection of Yoshis really! They are dotted around the front room and kitchen :-)
I think a few collectables or some childhood toys are okay, its when a grown man is excitedly getting a new action man with guerrilla car for xmas that I find disturbing ;)

i think it depends on the toys and what you do with them really...i mean keeping a fisher price activity centre - and playing with it - is a bit odd perhaps...but keeping a bagpuss toy that just sits on top of your wardrobe or something in not bad...
nor having a game of buckaroo perhaps...

i feel as geezer does...do what you what - those items were with you in your formative years and for a huge portion of your life...in fact they helped make you 'you' ...so why should you just throw them away because youre 'grown up' and some think its wrong?

there are no rules that say toys are for kids...

having said that...someone who totally fill their house with cuddly rabbits etc...is a bit weird - but then so woudl thimbles or bottle operner or something.
but so what? each to their own... an it make them happy, so no bad thing.

i think the problem is with the people who feel its wrong...
