Hello,

Looking for advice. I am involved with taking some Girl Guides to Japan in August. Can anybody tell me which would be the best for taking travellers cheques with us Would they be better in US dollars rather than British pound to exchange to Yen whilst there? We will obviously be taking some Yen with us to get us started but we will be there for 2 weeks approx and assume as the girls are under 18 yrs they may not have bank cards/credit cards for ease.

Many thanks to all who can advise.

I would personally take £ travellers cheques. You`ll only have to pay commission twice.

Thank you 237SJ. I wondered what others thoughts were as to the best way. I take your point re commission.
You can get travellers cheques in yen, cutting out one lot of conversion fees
