why does it cost me, using my explore card with both parts of the journey, £1.20 to get a bus (one way) to the train station which is 2 miles away, then only £3.50 to get a return train ticket, to a city 35 miles away plus, showing the ticket to bus drivers in the city let you travel for free, within the city, which i normaly use to get from the train station, to the shops and back again, which, each way, is about as far as the jounrey from my house to my train station, each way?

Because each of the trips is made by transport with different companies, and student rail fares are heavily subsidised.

...and you must have some sort of arrangement for free travel within the city you mention. Each local area can set its own arrangements for travel, it sounds like you use some sort of shuttle bus in the city?

No, just a normal bus, and it isn't even in the same county.

Because i got on the train in my county, i could use my card, which gave e the buses around the city, but if i were to get on a bus in that city, without the train ticket, i would be charged as an adult.
