Anyone know a good but reasonably priced hotel in Amsterdam (in the main central part Dam Square etc) for a hen weekend?  Any recommendations?

Hi Octavius.........I had to stay in Amsterdam for a couple of weeks, and I stayed at the Canal Crown Hotel.  Comfortable, pretty easy to find, and not far from Dam Square etc. without being in the middle of it all.......

my mate booked me and 5 other girls at the Bulldog hotel right next to Dam Square.  If like me you are initially horrified by the name, dont be,  So cheap but so nice, all newly refurbished, (the options of dormatories or private rooms) really friendly staff, amazing atmosphere and you can be as loud as you like! and best of all your right in the centre of everything! just search on www.bulldog.nl where you can make a very small deposit online and pay the rest when you get there!

You could look at Hotel van Gelder Damrak 34

Family owned and run.

Look at a website called Amsterdam - The Channels for a lot of info.

I stayed at the NH City Centre Hotel - right on the canal side near Dam Square - you could do worse. I think it's listed under it's old name of Tulip Hotel.
