Suggesting that Blackpool has even one per cent of the charm and sophistication of Paris is as daft as MPs thinking we believe their expense stories.
At least when in Blackpool, one is not walking in 'Poodle' poo all the time.
agree with bill, been there twice and hated it both times, tacky is a word that springs to mind, most visitors go to pretty places or places of interest and blackpool is neither.

If Blackpool is like Paris, what does that make Lytham St Annes ? Versailles ? Florence?

It'll be more like Paris when its hoteliers don't charge a deposit for the TV remote. And that's just a start!
Paris and Blackpool? No comparison - but you can't blame them for trying. I have a funny feeling that a lot of the new visitors they attract are going to be greatly disappointed!
