I want to hire a car for holiday in florida but the hire companys all ask for a credit card deposit and I dont have one , they dont seem to except debit cards. does any one know a way round it .

You can get a 'credit' card which is pre-loaded with a certain amount of cash (eg �1000). I think one of the places you can get them is Tescos, though you could try googling 'pre loaded credit card.

If you do get a preloaded card you need to ensure that it is 'enabled' for car hire - not all of them are.

And bear in mind that they may take quite a big deposit as well as the rental fee
we have just returned from florida and rented a car from dollar we took the premiem insurance which was �140 for 10 days and then did not need to leave a deposit you also got unlimited drivers and a free tank of petrol
dollar rent a car just ask for a 250 usd deposit which u get bak wen u drop the car off (within 24hrs)
