If you are extremely wealthy and self-supporting, it is undoubtedly possible.
One wonders whether you've thought of the key word 'work'. here's something about Antigua to confirm it just isn't possible. I'm pretty sure Jamiaca will be similar.
There's a world of difference to spending a couple of idyllic weeks on vacation, and living there permanently.

Don't we all mate!
Don't we all what? - eat Marmite?
Live in the destinations of a very good holiday.
Seriously Jamiaca has employment problems and unless you have a trade or very good job, the only job you will get is a menial one.
The wages are not enough and the cost of living it high.
There is a housing shortage and if you have the money you can always build your own house as land is cheapish.

They are crying out for teachers and nurses.

quite happy to have a menial job such as bar, cleaning, cooking, retail, gardening and my other half is an it graduate who loves gardening and diy.

we have both had enough of stressful high powered jobs and want to go back to basics.

we are both aware its not an idyllic life like a few weeks on holiday as have worked abroad in europe but now wish to relocate perm to a laid back lifestyle - menial or not.
as for marmite - you either love it or hate it - we hate it lol xx

any help is truely appreciated
I would try the hotels on the coast then! They always need staff!
Last time I was there, I met 2 girls who were working in Negril, but it was hard work.

As it has been pointed out, there is no NHS and you have to pay to see the dentist/doctor and for medicines prescribed.

Try and watch Jamaica ER and see if you still want to live there.

Unless you have the means to support yourself, emigration to any of the Caribbean countries will be very difficult. There is high unemployment in most countries, and menial jobs go to the locals.
